Why I Don’t Love The Word “Hoarding”
Thanks to American and British TV in particular, we’ve become very used to the word “hoarding” over the last few years. It gets thrown around easily in everyday conversations, and much of the time in an unhelpful, limited or out-of-context way.
I get so many people contacting me who are really worried about friends or family members who may have a serious hoarding condition, and it makes me sad to see the massive gaps in information and even the many untruths that are out there on the subject.
If you yourself, your friend or family member or your client has a clutter or hoarding problem, please find out more about how I can help and support you in dealing with this challenging and delicate situation here.
What a great video Breda it just takes the pressure off and relieves guilt around the notion of being a hoarder. Thank you. M.
Thank you Moira for the interesting comment – great that you found my interpretation helping in relieving any guilt. Breda
I love this episode Breda and I totally get what you’re saying, being organised and having a system in place is sometimes all we need. I know from my own experience that my office looked cluttered and as if I was hoarding loads of stuff but in reality I wasn’t, I just needed to organise the room.
Thank you, Deborah – great to get your feedback and that’s a really good point. I had been meaning to shoot this video for ages and really glad I did as it helped me clarify how I felt about the word!
Such a good video Breda… agree with you that people often exaggerate and a lot of the time it’s just small, steady changes they need to make. Thanks, Shirley
Hi Shirley, that’s a very wise comment, thanks so much!
