How To Get Rid Of Clutter Fast

How would you feel if I said there was no “fast” way of getting rid of clutter? Don’t get me wrong, you might crack at it and fire everything that’s annoying you into a skip in a single day, but at what cost?

Like it or not, our physical clutter for the most part represents our mental and emotional clutter – the unhelpful thoughts and beliefs and the emotions like sadness, sentiment, shame, guilt, regret and overwhelm that so commonly weigh us down.

It’s natural to want to put on the blinkers and either ignore or just “get rid”, but our clutter is there to teach us. Anything that’s causing us discomfort isn’t there to make our lives harder – it’s there so we can learn and grow and enjoy lives that are happier and freer than ever before. I could not even begin to tell you how the lives of students and clients have transformed way beyond the physical in every single area when they took the time to learn to declutter in the right way. And that time pays off when someone finally gets stuck in, and they actually find themselves efficiently decluttering but with great ease and enjoyment.

How To Get Rid Of Clutter Fast

I always say that clutter can take years and even decades to build and, aside from being realistic in how long it will take to clear, the process of decluttering deserves to be honoured. Decluttering is such a valuable opportunity to make positive change in our lives. If we don’t feel it important to invest this time in ourselves and our decluttering we will ultimately always be weighed down.
